D.O.N.T. Text or Call While Driving
Return to Blog
Dont Text and Drive Take the Pledge logo

The D.O.N.T. campaign is the result of a coalition of injury prevention advocates including the Provincial government, the Ontario Brain Injury Association and insurance companies. It was formed to help raise awareness about the dangers of texting and calling while driving.

Please take a moment to review the pledge with your kids and loved one. Take the pledge. Stick to it.

I PLEDGE TO SPEAD THIS MESSAGE TO MY FRIENDS, FAMILY & NEIGHBOURS.  I PLEDGE TO DRIVE ONLY NEVER TEXTON THIS DAY FORWARD.

  • Distracted driving is cited as a factor in 30-50% of all car accidents in Ontario.
  • Car accidents are a leading cause of traumatic brain injury and death in young people.
  • While the Province of Ontario has outlawed texting and talking on handset cell phones, many people don't observe the law.
  • Recent evidence shows that hands free voice controlled email, texting, and calling is as distracting as using a handset.
