As many of us know, it can be hard to find reputable information online. It's easy to find headlines, and dubious sites that don't provide accurate information, or information from other jurisdictions, or America where law is entirely different.

I thought I’d spend a little time and compile a few of the resources available to you that provide accurate, truthful, and current information on insurance matters, trial law, and current legal issues. They are sites I visit for information and know to be reliable.

  1. Ontario Trial Lawyers Association – I am a proud member of the OTLA. They have a Facebook page and Website

    From their website:
“ The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) was formed in 1991 by lawyers acting for plaintiffs. Our purpose is to promote access to justice for all Ontarians, preserve and improve the civil justice system, and advocate for the rights of those who have suffered injury and losses as the result of wrongdoing by others, while at the same time advocating strongly for safety initiatives. Our mandate is:

To fearlessly champion, through the pursuit of the highest standards of advocacy, the cause of those who have suffered injury or injustice.

As an association of lawyers acting for plaintiffs, our organization has over 1,500 members who are dedicated to our work across the province and country. OTLA is comprised of lawyers, law clerks, articling students and law students from Ontario. We also have out-of-province members who are lawyers from Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, along with the United States. Together we work in our local communities to ensure equal accessibility to justice, full and fair protection of the rights of those who have suffered injury and the safety of all.”

Their site has blog articles on current cases and trends in Ontario law.
  1. Financial Services Commission of Ontario – FSCO

    They have a website.

In Ontario, automobile insurance is regulated by the FSCO a regulatory agency of the Ministry of Finance. On their website you can keep current with news on Auto insurance and changes to it, understanding how insurance works, and what to do in the event of an accident. It is a Government website and is updated regularly with good information for all consumers of auto insurance.
  1. The Law Times News

They have a website.

The Law Times News is a compilation of news from all law in Ontario and Canada. Its articles examine both technical inner workings of law professionals, professional news, trial news, case law, and politics as they related to the law. It is current daily and informative.

  1. Deutschmann Personal Injury Blog Page
