Colwyn Griffith: Something About Time
The Gallery has commissioned Colwyn Griffith to create the 8th instalment in the Parochial Views series. Parochial Views is comprised of commissioned works by selected Canadian artists with the purpose of reflecting the Waterloo Region’s urban and rural environs. Arabesque Café Victoria St. N Kitchener ON continues the tradition of capturing the transformative and transitional points in our region’s history established by previous Parochial Views commissions. Griffith’s work is of particular relevance as conversations about the repurposing of architecture and management of sprawl become topical. Like a harbinger for the abandoned “Big Three” dealerships that have closed across the region, Griffith’s work reminds us of the necessity for resourcefulness and change in the near future.
