Bicycle Season Has Arrived

This last week I've seen brave souls out on the roads and sidewalks on their bicycles. Unfortunately we have seen an increase in bike/car collisions in the last couple of years in the Region. Regardless of who is to blame in these accidents the cyclist is always the one injured seriously.
As a cyclist you should be taking care on the roads. Here are some tips to keep you safe:
- Obeying the rules of the road
- Stick to the bike lanes
- Wear a helmet and bright coloured clothes
- Be aware of what's around you
If you are injured in a car accident then you are entitled to accident benefits under the Insurance Act even if you have no insurance yourself.
