Signaling Crucial to reducing accidents in Roundabouts.

The Region's drivers are slow to adopt the rules of roundabout use. This is causing a lot of confusion in the intersections, and confusion when driving results in accidents.

Please remember that signalling is the key to letting people know where you are going in the round about. Signal to enter, signal in the circle, signal when you intend to leave the traffic circle. The Region of Waterloo has a good series of videos on how to use the roundabouts properly. I like this one.

In short:

  1. signal your entry into the circle
  2. maintain a left signal once in the roundabout
  3. signal right immediately before you leave the roundabout.

Practice makes perfect.
