The Windsor Star reported last week that the OPP had charged a man with various offences including impaired driving. The 53 year old man was on his way to an appointment in the mid-morning when he pulled over and dialled 911 on himself. Police dispatch kept him talking on the phone until officers arrived. They found him chatting won his phone with an open bottle of liquor.
Constable Kevin O'Neil was quoted,
“Really, the message here is look at some of the ridiculous things that people do when they are drinking and driving,” O’Neil said. “We can’t say what he would have done had he not called the police. We are glad that we were able to get this guy off the road.”
