OPP Dismayed with Impaired Driving Rates

The OPP released a statement yesterday saying that they have laid more than 180 alcohol related charges against drivers in the GTA in the last month. Many of the charges laid resulted from car accidents involving impaired drivers with some of the people charged having 3-4 times the legal limit of alcohol in their systems.
Impaired driving is the leading cause of death on highways in Ontario, and carries hefty fines and criminal charges. Insurance rates skyrocket after an impaired driving charge as well. In the GTA in particular, where transit options are plentiful there is no excuse for driving drunk.
Anytime that you see someone who you think may be driving drunk or high call 911 immediately.
