Waterloo Region Crime Prevention - Together for a Safer Community
Waterloo Regional Crime Prevention
The Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council (formerly the Community Safety & Crime Prevention Council) is an advisory group to the Region of Waterloo that consists of many community partners with one common goal:
To increase community safety by
making crime prevention everyone’s responsibility.
Who We Are
The tools to stop crime before it happens often lie within the reach of everyday citizens. Crime prevention is everyone's responsibility.
The Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council (WRCPC) is a group of people representing local agencies, government and neighbourhoods who work to reduce and prevent crime, victimization and fear of crime. Download a copy of our brochure.
Our Council Overview provides you with a deeper understanding of the mandate of the council.
WRCPC Members and committees come from many different walks of life within Waterloo Region. Representation includes the community-at-large, social service organizations, education, health, planning, justice, corrections, police, media, community and neighbourhood support agencies and political representatives.
Council emerged from within a rich tradition of collaboration, community based actions and prevention initiatives. The history of WRCPC identifies some of the turning points in the development of our approach to preventing crime.
Our Connected Partners
It takes more than an organization to mobilize a crime prevention initiative that can impact a community over time.
