Investigators making arrangements for post mortem conducted in Hamilton

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Homicide and General Division Detectives continue to investigate the death of a Cambridge man.

At approximately 11:45 pm on Sunday January 25, 2015, police responded to a residence in Cambridge to investigate an assault.

Upon arrival, police located a seriously injured male and life-saving measures were attempted. The victim was transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital but he was not able to survive.

Police have now notified the victim’s family and are able to identify the deceased as Ronald William Victor DOMONSKY, 61 years.

A 53 year old male arrested nearby has been charged with Second Degree Murder and is scheduled to appear in court later today.

Information relating to the nature of the victim’s injuries will not be available until the completion of the post mortem examination in Hamilton.

Investigators have no concerns for public safety in relation to this incident. Further arrests are not expected.

An adult male who resides with the victim was arrested a short distance from the residence. The 53 year old male will attend court today facing a charge of Second Degree Murder.

Investigators are making arrangements for a post mortem to be conducted in Hamilton.

Police are currently attempting to notify the victim’s next of kin, and as such, no further details are being released at this time.

Investigators have no concerns for public safety in relation to this incident. Further arrests are not expected.
