Regional Police Charge Kitchener Man With Homicide In Kate Lynn Reid Disappearance
Kitchener Man Charged And Remains In Custody
Waterloo Region, Ontario – As a result of the continuing probe into the circumstances of missing female Kate Lynn Reid, detectives are now investigating her disappearance as a homicide.
Reid was first reported missing in late January and police issued a public plea for help in finding her on February 5, saying that they were concerned for her well being.
Reid Just Vanished...
Regional Police reported that Reid has relatives in other parts of the countr but no-one among her family members in other parts of the country have seen her.
Police established a command post on Burn Place, near Reid's last known address. Officershave been knocking on doors in the area and asking neighbours whether they have seen Reid before or after she was first reported missing in January.

Reid, who has struggled with addictions in the past, according to Olaf Heinzel, Public Affairs Coordinator for Waterloo Regional Police, was initially thought to have left Waterloo Region, but police investigators have since changed their minds.
Now police say new clues have surfaced, which may explain the reason for Reid's disappearance in a far more suspicious and brutal light.
Hugh Rayburn McColl, 61, from Kitchener has been charged with second degree murder. He remains in custody pending a court appearance in Kitchener tomorrow.
Homicide detectives are continuing in their efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and presumed death of Kate Lynn Reid. Police are appealing to the community for information that could assist the ongoing investigation.
