Could Remains Provide Answers To The Disappearance Of Kate Lynn Reid?

Discovery Made Near 10 Burn Place

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On Friday March 20, 2015, shortly after 4pm , Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of 10 Burn Place in Kitchener to investigate a report of human remains.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation and are looking into the possibility of a link to the disappearance of Kate Lynn Reid.

A post mortem examination has been scheduled in Hamilton for early next week to confirm the identity of the deceased.

Reid, 51, was last seen Jan. 1 in the area of her residence on Burn Place. Hugh Rayburn McColl, 61, her former roommate, has been charged with second-degree murder.

No further details will be released until the completion of the post mortem examination.

Police have no immediate public safety concerns in connection with today’s discovery.
