Waterloo Celebrates Earth Day® Bring Your Whole Family And Learn

Bring Your Family And Learn About Our Environment

Waterloo, Ontario – The City of Waterloo encourages residents to learn and participate in this free family Earth Day event.

Waterloo Earth Day is a community event focused on learning about our environment through hands-on activities.

Participants will plant native trees and enjoy a variety of free, hands-on educational activities including building a bird house or getting up-close and personal with birds of prey and amphibians. There will be water activities and an opportunity to explore nature.

When: Saturday, May 2 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Where: Westmount Sportsfields - Environmental Reserve, 440 Westmount Rd. (north of Columbia St.) in Waterloo

Participants will plant native trees and enjoy a variety of free, hands-on educational activities including building a bird house or getting up-close and personal with birds of prey and amphibians. There will be water activities and an opportunity to explore nature.

Help us celebrate Earth Day™ by joining in on these activities:

• dig in and plant a tree

• meet live animals

• build a bird house with the K-W Woodworking and Craft Centre

• learn tips from local exhibitors: explore nature, be water wise and live local

Free Shuttle Bus

We encourage you to leave your car behind and hop aboard a free GRT bus as parking on site is limited. The bus shuttle will pick up participants every 30 minutes, starting at 12:30 p.m. from the west entrance to the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex at 101 Father David Bauer Dr.
