Police Involved In Cambridge Shooting - Officer Stabbed

Officer Stabbed In Shooting
Waterloo Region, ON – On Thursday April 30, 2015 shortly after midnight, Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a domestic violence related incident at a townhouse complex located at 95 Morning Calm Drive in the city of Cambridge.
Upon arrival, police were involved in an altercation with an adult male that resulted in injuries to the man and an officer. The male was transported to a Hamilton hospital with injuries after being shot by police. The responding officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds.
An adult female, who was seriously injured prior to police arrival, is also in a Hamilton hospital.
Homicide detectives and members of the Domestic Violence Investigative Unit are investigating the domestic related incident.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been notified and invoked their mandate. As required by law, no further information can be provided by Waterloo Regional Police at this time.
