Charges Laid, Arrest Made In Local Shooting

Anyone With More Evidence Is Asked To Come Forward

Waterloo Region, ONTARIO – Waterloo Regional Police Homicide detectives have arrested and charged a Scarborough man in connection with the death of Devane Anttony CAMPBELL, of Brantford, Ontario.

Noel Francis, 27, was arrested yesterday in Toronto and has been charged with Second Degree Murder and numerous weapons-related offences including trafficking and unauthorized possession. He appears in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kitchener on May 1, 2015.

On November 30, 2012 approximately 11:30pm, police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of a housing complex at 199 Elmridge Drive, Kitchener. Devane Campbell was discovered outside a residence suffering from trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A forensic autopsy completed in Hamilton concluded that Mr. Campbell died as a result of gunshot wounds.

The arrest of Noel Francis was as a result of the ongoing investigation and information received from the community.

The investigation is continuing
