Regional Police Make Major Drug Busts, Uncover Meth Lab, In Cambridge

Meth Lab And Street Drugs Seizures Latest Progress In Cambridge

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Crime Management Team arrested an adult male resident of Cambridge for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in controlled substances. The arrest took place in a private parking lot in Mississauga. During the arrest, a second adult male, who is yet to be identified, fled the scene in a rental vehicle after colliding with a police vehicle in order to escape. No injuries were sustained during the arrest.

Police seized half pound of cocaine, two pounds of marihuana, and three Percocet pills incident to the arrest. Total street value of the drugs seized is approximately $14,000.00. Attempts will be made to identify and charge the second unknown male.

Following the arrest, on December 2, 2015, police executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at addresses in Cambridge linked to the arrested male. As a result of the two search warrants police seized the following:

· 57 pounds of marihuana (approximate street value $171,000.00)

· 2 kilograms of cocaine (approximate value $100,000.00)

· 88 grams of heroin (approximate value $26,400.00)

· 66 grams of cannabis resin (approximate value $660.00)

· 81 Percocet pills (approximate value $400.00)

· 17 grams of psilocybin (approximate value $150.00)

· $1,050.00 cash

· A drug press

· A money counter

· Digital scales

· A vacuum sealer

· Three safes

Total value of the drugs seized in this investigation is approximately $300,000.00. Photos are attached to this email and a video can be viewed by clicking here. The male was held for a bail hearing, charged with 8 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of a controlled substance (Percocet), all under the CDSA.

Meth Lab Busted in Cambridge

Three people face drug-related charged following the discovery of what police call a “sophisticated” meth lab in a Cambridge home.

Waterloo Regional Police revealed the existence of the meth lab, located at 1748 Biscayne Drive near the Dumfries Conservation Area, Wednesday night.

Insp. Dave Bishop said there is a fairly large methamphetamine lab operating in the basement, with a lot of dangerous chemicals and dangerous gases.

Facing charges are 41-year-old Cambridge woman Trang Dang, 38-year-old Cambridge man Cuong Vo, and 34-year-old Hamilton man Thanh Do.
