Anyone 18+ in high-priority neighbourhoods can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine

'Live In Waterloo Region? Born in 2003? Pre-register Now!'

Waterloo Region – As of Monday, May 3, individuals who are 18+ and live in one of six high-priority neighbourhoods in Waterloo Region can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine. For the next two weeks, the Province has announced it is allocating more vaccine to communities hardest hit by COVID-19 and is expanding eligibility to individuals 18+ in these hot spots.

Anyone 18+, or born in 2003 and turning 18 this year, who lives in one of the following high-priority neighbourhoods in Waterloo Region can now pre-register for the vaccine:

  • Vanier/Rockway (Kitchener)
  • Country Hills (Kitchener)
  • Alpine/Laurentian (Kitchener)
  • Victoria Hills/Cherry Hill (Kitchener)
  • Shades Mills (Cambridge)
  • Columbia/Lakeshore (Waterloo)

Members of the public who are 18+ and live in one of the identified high-priority neighbourhoods are strongly encouraged to pre-register for the vaccine right away: COVID-19 Vaccination Pre-registration.

Opening up pre-registration to additional groups helps the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force prepare for the next group to be vaccinated. Anyone who has already pre-registered who is waiting for a booking invitation will be contacted within 4-6 weeks as vaccine becomes available. People will be invited to book an appointment in the order they were invited to pre-register.

The Task Force is working closely with community leaders and community organizations serving residents in high-priority neighbourhoods to increase access to vaccines through a variety of clinic options, including bringing pop-up clinics to these neighbourhoods. At these pop-up clinics, no walk-in appointments are available and vaccines appointments are being booked directly through organizations that serve residents in these communities. Dates are being coordinated based on mobile team, volunteer and vaccine availability.
