Find Family Day fun in Kitchener & Waterloo this long weekend

'Looking for a way to explore Kitchener and Waterloo and be active at the same time?'

Kitchener, Ontario – Celebrate Family Day in Kitchener with family-themed events and activities across the city. At City community centres, free bookable space is available for residents to use for a family activity of their choice on the holiday Monday. Book a community room or a gym time to enjoy your favourite hobby, sport or physical activity. Reserve your spot online at www.kitchener.ca/bookfreespace or by calling your nearest participating community centre.

Looking for a way to explore Kitchener and be active at the same time? Gather the family for a self-guided walking tour through our neighbourhoods and visit the places that have shaped our city. Self-guided walking tours give you the freedom to learn about our history, culture and diversity at your own pace. Printable and audio walking tour guides are available to download on the City’s website. Visit www.kitchener.ca/walkingtours for more details.

Enjoy Family Day outdoors at the Kitchener Market! Bring your skates and enjoy the synthetic ice rink with live music in the piazza (near the King Street entrance). Free hot chocolate will be served rink-side, and Chef D and his team will be selling fresh donuts along with a range of other snacks and treats from their wood-fired popup kitchen.

Families can also register for indoor, family-focused programming with a Chef Nicole cooking class or crafting a smash book with Mindful Makers. Learn more at www.kitchenermarket.ca/familyday.

Register for a family skate at Activa Sports Complex or The Aud on Monday, Feb. 21. Find a complete list of times available on ActiveNet.

The Bring on the Sunshine Festival returns this family day weekend with a free, 3-day virtual event. Join in the celebration of community and culture from Feb. 19-Feb. 21. Learn more about this family-friendly event at www.bringonthesunshine.ca
